Need Narrow Profile RCA Connectors

It's not that I didn't like the answer, I appreciate it (sorry if I didn't express that). I don't really want to just "whittle down" the connectors I have, if I can avoid it, and I don't want to use the Switchcraft connectors you idenitified. I thought perhaps the DYI section might yield some other ideas.

Edit: I should add, there's 36 connectors on the back of that thing that are close, I'd like to find a solution that I can apply across the board.

The switchcraft are great RCA connectors if you need something narrow. You don't want to use them though for some reason?

Switchcraft 3502aau are gold center and outer connection, physically the same size as the 3502a. Smallest decent quality connector I happen to know of. The 3502abau is the same thing with a black shell.

Well, if you mean the ones whoaru99 referred to - https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Switchcraft/3501MX?qs=iwvYsH9bSFaZIjAPEANZuQ== - no I really dont. I think they would be too hard to grip with my old hands in that tight space. I really do appreciate the suggestion, though, that's what I need, some ideas.

If you mean the ones I linked to above, yeah, either of those would be ok I'm sure. But since I'm probably going to end up making ... a lot of patch cords at once (been meaning to do so for a while now), I'd like to at least get a better idea of what's available in the narrower connectors before placing an order.

Thanks, that's very helpful. Interestingly, Parts Express lists the 3502A as .37" wide, but the data sheet on mouser says .406. Not a lot of difference but I have to assume the data sheet is more accurate. It could be tight. I think I'll order a couple of them and see if they fit.

That was a worst-case suggestion. Switchcraft makes others that are more conventional.

The primary suggestion was to measure the jack spacing so you can figure out what WILL fit, rather than solicit a bunch of suggestions for plugs that may or may not fit.

Yes, thank you, I did that before posting. And spent a lot of time scouring the web for connectors that will fit. And searched this forum. The problem is, many of the connectors offered out there do not list the width of the connector at its widest point, so it is impossible to know if they will fit.

Is there something wrong with coming onto this forum and asking if people know of narrow connectors?

The dimensions of all the plugs mentioned are readily available.

What is the jack spacing, center to center?

Yes, the dimensions of the ones mentioned are readily available. But the dimensions of many, many others are not.

I'm at work, I'll post the measurement when I get home. But I think any connector wider than around .45 is going to be too tight.

looks like old tube gear spacing, so probably pretty close to 1/2" center to center I'd guess.

frankly that is one aspect of my vintage gear that I absolutely do not love.
