Need Parts for My Sansui G-9000DB

ELBRAVO

Rocky
Hello:

I have a near mint Sansui G-9000DB, however, the speaker connectors on the left side of the unit may need to be replaced or repaired. Apparently, a few of the connectors where you insert the speaker wire are loose and may be missing the spring "inside" the connector assembly.

Can somebody advise if the Sansui G-9000DB connectors can be repaired? IPlease advise,
Rocky

There's no springs in the speaker connectors. The plastic tabs get brittle with age and eventually break internally. If you can find a parts unit, you can replace them easy enough but I would recommend upgrading them to a high quality binding post that are new and will last much longer than 30 year old originals.

Ooopps, I dont think I am actually allowed to post a link as I just did, I think it may be against the rules of this forum...............sorry guys.......

You are OK with this...Nicowico is quite correct.

Did you look at the parts forum here? Subscribers also have access to Bartertown.

Yes, I was once banned for that, so now I know exactly:D

Right thanks for clearing that one up................

The other place to try is the Sansui Parts Shop, Ive used this guy a few times now and he is very efficient at getting his orders out and responding to enquiries.
The prices can vary, I notice as his transistor stock is becoming depleted the prices go up a bit...............

I have a few of the original speaker connectors laying around (the AU-517/717 use them too), but they are cheap and prone to breakage. Better option is this.

Ha Ha Ha ....LMAO when I read your edit regarding big Crecent wrenches and sheet metal walls......

Thanks for that!
