Need Pioneer HPM-100 help

Can anyone tell me if the Pioneer HPM-1100 midrange (#12-733A) would be a good replacement for the normal HPM-100 midrange (#10-721B)

I just got a pair of HPM-100s, and one of the mids has a bad dust cap. It does not affect the sound, and really does not need replacing, but I was just wondering. I will also need be needing another woofer for my 200 watt versions, and was wondering if the 100 watt version makes any difference.

Thank you!

I would first try pulling the cap out myself by using the vaccuum cleaner hose with a sock over it to dampen the suction a little before I replaced it entirely. The HPM woofers are the same on the 100 or 200 watt versions and can be swapped out accordingly. I dont know for a fact if the mids will interchange between the 1100 and 100,but Im thinking so. Enjoy your day.

Try thumper69's suggestion - most of the time the dust caps will pop out. I've had good results with that trick.

Also, I remember seeing someone selling dustcap "covers" online for dented in dustcaps. You just glued it over the old one. Worth checking out anyway and probably alot cheaper than replacing the driver. Good luck! :thmbsp:

If you can't stand the dust cap and you can't fix it, it would make a lot more sense to find the most similar dust cap you can, buy a pair, and replace both dust caps.
