Need some advise

Hello everyone. I have a Pioneer PL-510A in my system. I have an opportunity to get a PL 518, dual 1018, 1218 or 1219. Not sure of conditions as yet, but are any of these an upgrade feom my current turntable? Thanks in advance for all your input.

I had a PL-510A and liked it quite a bit. They seem to be pretty rugged and not hard to service. You're mainly limited to low compliance cartridges with that arm though.

I currently have a Dual 1219 and think it's a wonderful turntable, compatible with a good range of cartridges, but Dual automatics almost always require servicing and it's not that easy to do unless you're mechanically-inclined.

Had a PL 510 years ago. I really liked it and would grab one if it shows up. Have two 1219s and a 1229. Married to them. Been blessed with a working knowledge of them. Fixed up a 1218 for a local record store. Came out nice. Has a ten inch platter while the 1219/1229 are twelve inch. Recommended. Find one that been gone over. Done right it will run well for a long time!

I also have a 1219 with a Shure V15 III. I think this TT sings; you can get better turntables, but not anywhere near the value of a 1219.

If you have any mechanical sense; they can be cleaned, lubed and put right without much hassle.
