So...my red STEREO light is out in my Marantz 2238B

Can I just pull the bulb out of the plastic housing from the top using tweezers?

Or will I need to remove the entire plastic housing that houses all the bulbs?

Any tips/tricks/advice is greatly appreciated!

Thank you very much!

Welcome to AudioKarma!

The bulb might pull out when the leads are pulled. But more likely they will just break off. My method for removing these lamps is to push them out from the front. I use a punch that is about the diameter of the lamp. It usually crushes the glass then pushes the lamp out.

I usually use a dental pick to separate the lamp from the rubber grommet. Take a sharp pick, and insert it between the lamp and the rubber at multiple locations around the lamp, until the lamp is separated from the rubber. You can then pull the lamp out by the wires, without danger of just pulling the wires off.
