Might you mean W40?

The W4 was a very rare corner speaker from the mid 60's - production started in 1963 or so I think. If you have a pair, post pics! I don't think I've ever seen one in person.

The W4 is a omnidirectional 4-way speaker, and has a 12in woofer, two 5in mids angled outwards and a 3in tweeter facing upwards. The woofer is unusual having a PST cone. The cab is of the DP type with several slots in the back.Separate controls for mid and tweeter.

No it is a w4 not a w40 and yes it does look like it belongs in a corner I will post pics as soon as the wife gets home she knows how to post pics. The guy was in the Air Force a big wig officer that I assume he bought the pair in Europe.

Hope pictures come out ok. Here are the speakers.

Those things are awesome! They look like Leslie cabs (rotating-driver single-speaker system for Hammond organs). I would hang on to those. They look like they're in great shape.

I found a nice pair of W3's for $50.00 at a SallyAnne 2 years ago...

Those corner speakers are cool. Was he going for an "Acoustic Wave Machine" type of thing with those? They seem like the kind of speaker that's not supposed to be recognized as a speaker. I bet they sound great in the right setup. You can tell that there's love in that design.
