Need speaker grill labels for KLH 17's

Hi...

I'm restoring a pr. of late 60's/early 70's KLH 17's, and need the "KLH" labels that stick on the front grills.

I forgot where to get stuff like that...any help? There used to be a company that sold AR and KLH etc parts....??

I picked up a pair on Ebay while back.....they come up....if I am not mistaken they are metal and glue to the grill, unlike the the screw on plastic badges for the Model Six and Five....somebody correct me if I am wrong.

The originals didn't stick on but screw on. If you look at the grille board and the front baffle (lower left) you'll see the hole.

What I'd suggest is for you to keep checking eBay. They show up from time to time.

Congratulations! The Seventeens are among my favorite speakers. I recently sold my restored early pair and wish I hadn't. Actively looking for another pair in need of help.

Early versions had the thick cast metal screw in type that went through the grill frame and into the baffle board and had to be unscrewed to remove the grill. The later and more common version is the stamped sheet metal logo with the sticky tape on back. This goes for the Model Six and Five as well as others. They show up on fleabay fairly often, google 'em and see what comes up.
 
My first speakers were a pair of 17's, bought via a mail order company in about 1973, along with a H-K 230A receiver. It was great. Now, all these years later and I'm recreating that system. I know it's sacreligious, but I'm thinking of "upgrading" the drivers to new foam-surround woofers and a Vifa dome tweeters. The way they are, they just don't sound very good. I tried recapping the xovers, but they're dull sounding. I also tried the latex on the surrounds. I'm hoping they sound better than new.....
