Need speaker recommendation for Pioneer spec 1 and 4.

Hey! New to all this. I was given a spec 1 and 4 from someone who was going to throw it away or donate it. I had no idea what it was until after i got home and researched them. I currently use kanto yu6 speakers and need to get some passive speakers to use the spec.

does anyone have any speaker recommendations for around $1000 for thr pair that are new or can be found used easily? I am completely overwhelmed and am looking for somewhere to start. Thanks for taking the time to help!

Personally, I'd start with a pair of original, NHT Super One's (or any other of the NHT similar sized models). The originals were made in the USA. I would not recommend the newer, 2.1 made in China version. The originals can be found on ebay, cheap. Don't let the low price fool you as these are really good sounding small speakers, which sound much bigger than they are. Although not currently in use, I've owned, and enjoyed a pair for several years.

I’d get some nice big speakers that can use the power and sound great. DCM Time Windows and higher numbered Time Frames are cheap and great. Bigger ADS are nice but are getting speedy. Others will like horns like Klipsch.

Speakers are the voice of your system so you should try to determine what kind of sound you like. This may mean trying a few. Starting with some NHT might be alright. I have SB3s and they are very good small speakers I’m keeping for when I need smaller speakers.

Location is helpful as stated. Size limitations, music type and such will help us help you.
