Need suggestions for a portable system for vacation/ on the go…

Heading out for a vacation in a number of weeks and MUST take my music with me. Anyone have a good/strong opinion on a small Bluetooth portable little one piece speaker/amp setup? Lots on the market, I know but want to filter through to get something decent. Will be using my iPhone and Spotify to stream to it.

Here’s my requirements;

-Has to easily fit in my suitcase (smaller than a shoebox) as it’s going on the plane with me. Smaller the better…
-Rechargeable
-Stereo
-Quasi rugged/beach compatible
-Around $100
-Decent charge-holding capacity

First hand experience is preferred!

I have some older Sony Bluetooth speakers that I have used for years, but I would get this one if I was in the market. No first hand experience with it though.

I bought a couple Sony SRS SRSXB13B units for trips to my brother's lake house. They cost about $50 each and can be used as a stereo pair, which I really like. They are pretty small so easily packed and transported and don't take up a lot of room. Bass is adequate - these are marketed as "Extra Bass" speakers. They charge up with a USB cable and will play for several hours. I run them from my Samsung tablet or from my phone.

I use a Tribit Maxsound Plus for occasional background music and consider it to be a good value if you must have one of these things. I paid around $60 for it and you can run two as a stereo pair if you use bluetooth. I mainly use its line input with my Samsung tablet because the Samsung's headphone jack has a "vacuum tube" equalization setting which sounds a little better than bluetooth. I have also tried an Oontz Ultra and an Audioengine 512 and I prefer the tonal quality of the Tribit. However, the Audioengine does attempt to create a soundstage, while the Tribit or Oontz do not.

I have two JBL portable Bluetooth speakers and I can only say great things about them. The batteries have a long life and some of the units will charge your phone. I also have a couple of Sony portable players with Bluetooth and are capable of playing many formats including FLAC. The players and speakers usually provide 3 or 4 evenings of music before needing to be charged.

I traveled a lot for the job. Have a JBL Flip 5 for my hotel room along with my HP rig. IMO HP's are the way to go for traveling but it was nice having the JBL when hanging out with co-workers or others.

I also gets tons of backyard, beach, mountains, river etc use.

Edit: the JBLs can pair up in stereo also.

ive used a flip 5 for the past almost 3yrs and have been more than satisfied.
the battery life is incredibly long.
the sound is pretty good for the circumstances.
and you can put it in nearly any bag. mine has a small case thats very convenient.
big sound in a small package.
