Need Suggestions for Capacitors

I have a Kenwood KA-2500 Integrated Amp with some bulging capacitors and need some suggestions for replacements. The ones in question are the 4 large ones, (1) Elna 2,200 uF 50v and (3) Elna 1,000 uF, 30v, although I have determined that these 3 will have to be replaced with 35v now. I'm looking for something of similar diameter, but doesn't have to be the same height. 2 of the 3 1000s are bulging and I suspect are giving me the hum I hear when there is nothing on. I'd like to fix this little amp, because it does play nice, it's in very good condition and I like the fact that it has two phono inputs. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

What works for me:

Go to DigiKey or Mouser and look for new capacitors with suitable physical measurements. Modern electrolytics are frequently smaller (height, diameter, pin spacing) than originals. You want a new cap with a diameter that will fit. Height is usually not an issue unless it's a big filter cap that may interfere with putting the cover back on. Skinnier or shorter is usually not a problem. Fatter and taller may be.

Measure the height, diameter, and pin spacing of the original caps. You want a replacement with the same or slightly higher capacitance and voltage rating. Increasing capacitance and voltage rating within reasonable limits usually isn't a problem, and you may be forced to do so to find a new cap that fits.

Pin spacing isn't always critical for smaller caps. The new cap may have a narrower pin spacing than the holes on the board, and you may have to mount it off the board, but smaller caps are usually mechanically stable and don't flop over under their own weight.

Larger and heavier through hole caps, like the ones you are describing, should be mounted flush against the board for mechanical stability.

There are dozens of rebuild threads with tons of photos showing how to install new capacitors that aren't exact matches for originals. Do a search and you may even find a thread or two specific to the KA-2500.
