Picked up technics sl-d303 turntable. The plastic that goes on top of the platter, and then the record goes on it is warped. Looked for a replacement, no luck. Will try and flatten using heat and pressure. Anyone have suggestions on flattening plastic?

Ok I should have done the google thing before i posted. Found some ideas. I see no way to delete a post here.

Plastic (sure you don't mean rubber)? Where? Sure you don't need a new platter mat? They're cheap.

If you had to heat it to flatten it, is it hard when it cools? If it is, you might still need to replace it to avoid scratching records.

The only plastic TT mats I'm aware of are Acrylic and either clear or translucently colored.
