New Member
Looking for some decent sound speakers for under $200 or so. Mostly blues and rock, in a medium to large sized room. I don't play them very loud. Using Sansui AU-719 amp
I found these for sale:

Or are there new speakers to be had with good quality and sound for this price? thanks

The speakers you've listed are very very different animals.

Massachusettes -- California

B&W will not give the bass or SPL of larger JBL models, but many people (especially in the UK) enjoy their midrange character for clarity/trueness.

The 600 series is not in the same league as the 800 series, so don't equate them when searching for reviews.

I've never heard B&W myself, hopefully first-hand experience will chime in...

The JBL S38 and B&W DM602 are both fine speakers.

If you're more into rock and heavy stuff, go the JBL route.

Point 1) Hard to go wrong, :yes:

Best part of this is so many people here have varied tastes;

Chances are unless you get a real turkey, you can sell it to me! or another AK'er, often for close to what you paid...

reinvest, rinse, repeat :thmbsp:

Point 2) Synergy. This is often overlooked.
Attaining perfect 'wire with gain' situations doesn't exist AFAIAK. Some components are more compatible than others, as shacky says:

Extreme examples? There's an audio esoterica picture website with 20 foot long horns, wooden carved wonders, and much more...
