im near jackson,ga..i have a klh model 20 which lites up,i needto know whats wrong and why no sound without payin a dang fortune,anyone know anyone close to my area,one guy i called like 4 times andno answer.im near mcdonough,losust grove jackson area,someone help me please,let me know soon,we fixed the walnut case an the turntable spins,do i have to take a dang 2 year class or issomeone outthere nice,and helpful and cheap,this is gettin infuriating,an old klh an marantz just flat sounds warmer richer than my onlyo an natural yamaha stuff,like good ole marantz an klh are way beautiful,when all things are right..HE LP..........

It ain't gonna be easy. If it was a purely electronic piece there are several places I could recommend. But cheap they are not. One charges $75 just to open the box, which, from what I hear, is not unreasonable.
But, I think your biggest hurdle will be the turntable. These are fairly delicate devices and may not do too well after been having played soccer with by UPS/USPS. I don't know if any shops would want to accept liability for any damage when they ship it back.

To better explain it? Give it to GW (good will) and buy something for around 150 or less? TT add what's on the bay for extra.

last guy i had come over i lost his contact info,told me a channel was out on superrare marantz ecotec ,i sold it broke anyway though..bought for 100 sold way cheap for 900,an that included the preamp... i seen just it later on ebay sc 7 or sm 7 and am 9 ecotec..made 800 real fast an shoulda done way better,i was just starting out on finding,an keeping an selling some of these,same with a sansui au20000..sold too cheap,but big money for us years ago in the beginning,an i have no clue why the model 20 klh has no sound except when you do the switches,but sure it lites up,an turntable works.,these are better sounding an warmer an richer than most stuff,so we shall see,i,ll hunt an find a right person i hope,an im 61 i know well how things cost ..last guy was 25 bucks an hour,an he moved away an had fixed a couple marantzes for me..i grew up listening to a model 20 with its 4 ohm speakers and till this day still one of favourites so warm an rich..the repair guy here in jackson doesnt answer my phone calls,and him or another one is reported to be real grouchy an should retire..he aint seen grouchy yet..lol,time will tell i guess.......i dont pay much for one that only lites up,an we have a few places in atlanta that can repair,but i need someone close i can talk to face to face an shipping to chicago..thats a laugh,this isatlanta,and im not made of money by no means,and i only drive dodges not chevy trucks,but thanx anyway,im over extended a little but will find a way..........i dont give electronics,vintage stuff to goodwill etc,have bought a few things there an repaired some simple things in the past though...

itt ook me a longtime to undo the packing on thislast model 20..i had told the guy..please ship and pad it right and he sure did,now to get it going,or i may just do a trade an cash for a good model 24 with even more power if i read right,i wonder why the model 20 is most popular though,for a long time i didnt know of only a couple other klh record player/fm,or whatever combos...
