Saw these come up with Local pick up and I just happen to be spending Thanksgiving very close to the seller.

I got a saggy voice coil in one of my woofers only really shows up as a knock when playing some heavy bass at very loud volumes. Now I can take my time getting it rebuilt and I won't be with out my beloved I's during the process. Also got one cabinet with some chips in the back edges, so hopefully I can get two very good cabinets out of the four. Very nice to have extra parts for a rare set of speakers also. The price is was about 1/2 the price these usally go for..

Styler:

I haven't really heard thier smaller conventional speakers. The big I's have the Full room stereo affect and present a very wide sound stage. The more standard speakers wouldn't do that. Some Walsh 2's would be a nice for a small speaker. As far as the I's go, I ran several months with both them and a pair of LaScala's in the same room. The Klipsch's are gone now and I still have the Ohms.

Glad you are enjoying the 777.

RTR:

Called Ohm and they said it was a common problem with the woofer that the voice coils are so heavy that they sag after 20 years and sometimes flipping the woofer works at getting rid of the problem. Did it and it's a little better, but still does it. Not near as bad as when you were over.

It will probably happen sooner or later. I'm going to have to keep my eyes out for a Quad pre-amp, may drag them up the living room and see what they sound like in the HT set up.

L and L2s

http://www.ohmspeakers.com/productline.cfm

Go here for info. . . I had the "L" and "L2" version. . . Loved them, 4ohm speakers but I never had a problem running them with scoodles of Vintage receivers and amps.

If I remember right I sold the L2s to a AK member. I had the factory upgrade the woofers, I recomend that even if it is expensive.
