Neophyte getting an education

Hello all, FNG here. I've been interested in good quality sound since my first all-in-one stereo purchase in the late 70's. You know the type, turntable, 8-track, receiver with speakers... I remember you could buy them from Thrifty Drugs LOL
Anyway, I've put together a few decent car systems and have a middling theater set-up with a Harmon Kardon 520 and home-built speakers with Vifa drivers and a ridiculous Shiva subwoofer. My upstairs system is an ancient Denon AVR610 and Boston Acoustics SubSat6. Our house is small and SWMBO will not allow larger speakers in that room. Anyway, I'll be looking to upgrade/improve the Denon/Boston Acoustics combo first since it also has to drive the outdoor speakers.
Looking forward to the education.

Thanks. I have been perusing some of the threads and man alive, you guys are on an entirely different level. I am hoping the learning curve is not as steep as it seems.

The good news is that there are people here that will want to help you. Welcome!

No worries. The main thing as you move into along with sound and music is that you enjoy the ride!!

A piece here and a piece there (music or equipment)....as long as you like it when you get it, you are doing it right. While most of us like to try new things, we take great joy in making the most of what we have when we have it.

Welcome.

Thanks Tiver, I am having a good time perusing CL to see what's out there and then looking at the reviews here. Quite Informative!
