Used to be quite a few similar builds out and about back in the day ... speakers of the future! Usually a down firing woof with mid size full range drivers on the sides.

Fun part was chasing the ashtray and such around when you were cranking the jams ...

Moonachie was the imported hifi hub of the east in the 70's. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they were made overseas and labeled here.

No idea who built what in that line, but I also found they marketed a Poly Planar line of wall hangers that look interesting. Flat panel radiators, way ahead of their time.

Speaker Variations in Magitran Line (from Billboard magazine)

Sounds like a design similar to my Gekko flat panels. Those are only a couple inches deep. They do a fantastic job as part of a hafler array on the rear channels of my quad. Incredibly wide dispersion and imaging ... you can set them both right next to each other, and still hear stereo standing to the side.

Sounds a lot like Bretagni Electroacoustic Systems(?) BES speakers, they licensed the design to Yamaha and Fisher, among others.
