New ADS L810’s

I decided to try a pair of ADS L810’s in my system. It’s my first go with ADS, and wow- they’re great!

I’ve been trying out different (mostly vintage) speakers over the last few years, but my place is tiny so they’ve mostly had to come and go.

I think my progression has been:
Thiel CS1.5 (a neighbor was downsizing)
Original Large Advent
Dynaco A25
KLH Model 5
AR-3a
Yamaha NS-690
Yamaha NS-1000 (Macassar wood finish )
KEF R3

I really love the NS1000 and I put them in storage last year, but I have to say these ADS L810 are right up there with anything I’ve heard. Incredibly sweet and detailed highs & mids without fatigue, and super rich bass.
I do have them on 24” stands, due to some room constraints- so maybe that’s helping to reduce the mid-bass hump some folks talk about with these.
Personally, I love them!
I’m excited to pull the NS1000 back out when i have time and A/B them.

I’d highly recommend the L810 to anyone considering ADS!

I like the stands. Lazy bum that I am I probably would use the KLH 5’s as stands.

ADS speakers have super highs and mids and I think a great value for the money, Enjoy!

I had a pair of ADS L710 speakers and they were incredible. The first record that I listened with those speakers was The Fixx's "Reach the Beach" and the sound knocked me on my ass. Alas, my wife appreciates the mid-century modern style over the ADS substance, so the AR 2ax's went back into the system. Which still sounded great, but not quite as good as the ADS's.

Haha yes, my wife still asks why I sent the AR-3a’s away.
She gave the ADS a sideways look yesterday that I took to mean “ok, I guess I’ll let these pass”

Yeah, my old lady didn't say anything when the ADS's were in place, but she did mention that definitely prefers the styling of the AR's. Right now, I have a set of KLH 23's in place and she mentioned outright that she really likes the look of them. I have *got* to over my need for hearing how all speakers sound and just be happy with the 23's (which I am).

I really like the looks of my L810's. The metal grills and radiused corners look great! Really classy speakers! Yours look to be the same?
