A little back ground.
These belong to a very nice young lady. They were purchased by her dad when he returned from Vietnam.
These are fairly early sporting cloth surround Alnico woofers, dated Sept 29, 1969. They were completely original. The badges fell off the steel plates as you'll see in the pics. I was able to track down some beautiful original badges. Grill cloth is from 123stitch.
The daughter has had them for about 15 years pretty much going unused in a sun porch.
She found Mike of HVHiFi and he recommended me for the job.
They were neglected, have some good crunched corners, one joint mildly separated from moisture. A chunk missing from the top front frame among other veneer repairs needed.
Before I did anything, I hooked them up to check that all the drivers were working, which they are.
I started on these 3 weeks ago, so here's pics of where I'm at. I just applied the 4th application of Watcos. Cleaned the pots, only one needed a little work, the other 3 looked brand new! Finished the re-cap, and the grills are done.
Here's pics, more like a photo journal.

More to come.
