New Car Opinions

I don't buy new cars, period. I buy them already-depreciated and keep them till they're dead or too smashed up to repair.

My current 'daily beater' is a '95 Chevy Caprice which I bought for $2100. I plan to drive it into the ground. My project car, '84 Volvo 244 turbo, $200. I also plan to keep that one until it falls apart - which is unlikely, considering I'm in Alabama and cars do not rust here.

Cash cars are the only way to go.

That right there is THE reason to lease:...That may also be the reason people who finance trade in so often: "Out of warranty, out of my life." They don't want to spend $4,000 on a new transmission at 70K. Not even god knows how much labor would be on top of that.
I will admit BMW screwed over their 3 series customers with their GM transmissions that GM recalled but BMW didn't. BMW simply says " we're unaware of any transmission issues and cannot warrant them as we don't know how they are being used". There's sites dedicated to the epic failiure that was the 3 series transmission.

I wont even get started on the 3 series subframe failures...

His and her 2000 Impala LSs, her's has about 30k miles, mine a little over 45k, full size cars with good gas mileage about 30MPG highway, will probably run them until they drop (or we do).
