New Cartridge for V-M Changer?

My circa-1961 Westinghouse HM-1411 stereo console came with a standard Voice of Music 1200-series changer fitted with a Sonotone 8T cartridge. It played fine until a couple months ago and the right channel went out. I'm guessing the cartridge is on its way out. Is there a suitable Sonotone replacement? Should I replace it with a magnetic cartridge and install an outboard phono preamp? Or should I just upgrade the V-M changer to something higher quality? Thanks for the help!

I did a search, found this site. They have a Sonotone 8T, among other ceramic cartridges.

May be you can contact them to find out if you want the same or a different cartridge for your application.

I can't vouch for this site, just found it via a Yahoo search. If it works for you great, if not just use the search engine of your choice and type in "Sonotone cartridge". Add 8T if you like. I didn't.
