Hi all,

New to AK, but a long time lurker and benefactor of the wealth of information shared here. I am just now starting to get into vintage audio and looking to build myself a decent, but budget-minded system. I was able to get a pretty nice condition SL-1200MKII and have recently re-carted it to a Shure m97xe with plans to upgrade to a Jico SAS in the future.

I am currently just running it through my dad's old Technics GX670 and the built in preamp into some budget Pioneer SP-FS52. I feel there is a lot more fidelity to be gained with more vintage gear and some proper sensitive speakers. In the market for speakers and components as I build my vinyl collection :music:

Nice to finally join up here and hope to meet some of you. I'm located in Durham, NC :)

Haha thanks, that's Tiberius. The bane of my audiophile experience -.- hair/static everywhere, bumping into the table/speakers, and he has eaten some of my vinyl in the past.

I am over in New Bern myself, do get up to Cary on occasion to visit my daughter.
 
Welcome from neighboring VA. Nice rig, I have the same cart on a SL1300. I think my son wants it so it may be gifted.
 
Thanks all, already doing a bunch of research here as to receivers/components that would be an upgrade from my 670. I already had to get another cube shelf for more vinyl storage :scratch2:

Changed up the config to get better access to the table. :music:
