New from VA (Vintage Infinity Lover)

My niece was born two months premature. Her bowels had not formed, and she needed god how many surgeries. She spent the first eight months of her life in the NICU at UVA Hospital.

If it wasn't for them, my neice would not be alive today. Therefore, I can't say anything about UVA...

Besides.....I was more of a Radford man myself.

I had a friend or two that went there, and I made a quite a number of "friends" there. I call them "friends" because I only ever saw or spoke to them when I went down there (to party), but they were always willing to take me in and let me party with them; so they were ok in my book.

I've also spent a weekend or two stumbling around on a mountain down in Wise.
 
I know what you mean ive got 2 friends there I grew up with. The others are mostly the partying friends.

Thats one thing I do love about SW Va in general, the people are very friendly and are rarely judgmental.

Oh, yeah, UVA med school is pretty much 2nd to none...They send people there from here, if not, the next stop's the mortuary. Think they have a world-class burn unit there. Yeah, Wise is in the literal Middle of Nowhere...You can boogie up to Roanoke, or boogie down to the Tri-Cities, or maybe over to Charlotte, if you're adventurous, but otherwise, its Let's Go See The People Of Wal-Mart 'n' see what the well-dressed PoWhite Trailer Trash will be wearing-or NOT, as the case may be- next Fall....

U of Richmond calling UVA preppy? I guess you haven't checked the demographics of your entering classes lately! Richmond is enjoying their current status of being the darling of the prep schools—for some reason I don't understand. Must be the gated campus for Mummy's little darling.

UVA is still the Number One public university in the U.S. nearly every year in college polling. You can make a fair argument for bias in the selection criteria, but there's no better educational value, especially for in-state students, anywhere on the East Coast.

Drinking is no longer a major at UVA, unless you're a lacrosse player. Old stereotypes die hard. Sort of like JBLs having that "West Coast" sound! :D
