hi folks, I'm getting back into vinyl and hi-fi (low budget at this point) after many many years of mp3 and other digital use. It started when a friend gave me a Realistic STA-2270, then I got a Pioneer PL-55x, then found some Radial Research 12-3's that I re-foamed and bought new tweeters for my Polk 4.5's
All in all it's a decent setup. one tweeter on the Radial research is bad, possibly the same crossover. I'm looking into how to replace or repair that.
lots of things learned here already, been lurking for a while. I think I'll get this little setup going then upgrade to some 70's Pioneer goods. My main goal is to get a system that plays what was intended to be heard. I very much respect recording engineers, especially of the 70's so I hope to put together a fairly inexpensive system that renders this type of work well. Although, as with my guitar rig, I know things can get out of hand rather quickly
