Hi from the Virginia highlands. Just got back into audio recently and found his site while googling about a thrift store purchase I made a few days ago. I bought a Sony STR-6065 for the princely sum of $14.00 (!!!) and it is in fantastic condition and now hooked up to an older first generation Pioneer CD player and some JBL LX-44 and Bose 201 Series IV loudspeakers. I could not be happier and feel like I got lucky with this receiver! Great information on this site and I look forward to sharing my experience soon.

Well, the Sony is playing as I type, a Windham Hill recording (cd) of George Winston's "Spring Into Summer". There is no listening fatigue at all with this receiver and the JBL's and Bose sound real good with this unit. Everything works on it and the only issue is a tiny bit of scratchiness in the pots. I have some deoxit and will address that issue later on. This receiver cost me only 14 dollars at a CHKD thrift in Smithfield, VA. I got it home here in the mountains yesterday and put it all together and the wife and I are very pleased with the result!
