Is there any way, on God's green earth, involving pleas, letter campaigns, payment, ritualistic stereo sacrifices, or any other known method, to get a new account on HiFi Engine?

It just seems so odd the owner completely shut the place down to new members. I get that there was abuse of the site, and those folks should be banned. I also get that the owner OWNS the site, and can do what he/she wants with it. But a complete ban for newbies? Just seems unfair.

Is there ANY way to appeal to the owner, direct email,. letter, etc to request a new account?

I searched this site and could find no simple, straightforward post like mine. If this question has been answered, my apologies in advance.

The answer is “no”
It’s run by 1 guy and that’s how he chooses to do it. There’s no way you can change it.
Luckily many manuals are on akdatabase.com (and other sites) and people with hifi engine accounts are willing to help get whatever you need. Not ideal but it is what it is

HFE is a great resource site. I and many others use it routinely. Myself mostly for info on used gear I'm evaluating or potentially looking at buying. Unfortunately it was compromised by bad actors and the owner had to change how people access the site. Many docs are available elsewhere but HFE has a very clean and streamline interface compared to many others. I hope he can secure the site and open the resource back up to everyone.

I don't think at this point that will ever happen.

I used to have an account there. It was apparently dropped for inactivity, and I was never able to regain access. Since then I've made a point of finding original print manuals wherever possible, (despite the cost) since I find them much easier to work from. That said, even though the site owner can conduct business however he sees fit, it strikes me as a bit of a a raw deal considering how many people have graciously donated tike effort to scan and upload material there, for access to them be limited forevermore only to those who have active accounts.

That will represent a dwindling number of users over time, as attrition removes more existing users. At some point, the number still using it will be so small it will be pointless to continue operating without adding new users. Just an observation, as I've long since moved on to other means of acquiring service data, out of necessity.

JaS has HFE and Vinylengine. VE has plenty of traffic In their forums. Best TT forum out there that I’ve seen so far. So don’t know that dwindling number of users is gonna kill anything.

There are other sources, seek them out. I believe real, originals would be great to have. Unfortunately the suppliers of high quality reprints lost stereo manuals, Rick a few years ago and no one picked up the business There are others out there to but one less, I guess.

But manuals are generally available but maybe not a cheap as many want or need them to be.
