New In Box Marantz 2270 for $1350??

How can one tell a "like new" receiver in original box vs. a true "new" in its original box?? Does no evidence of use equal new? I don't know...how much would you pay for a real NIB 2270?

i didnt bother to look up what this might be worth
but i know i wouldnt be near that unless i was a hardcore marantz collecter
i have numerous marantz pieces all used,some newer some older, havnt paid more than 200 [pm7200]
that even if it is NIB will need a rebuild to sound true... the caps are 30yrs old

i have a sansui au 666 .. used .. yet still has the plastic protection on the face plate
i just picked up a 2265b for 50.... its used its dirty and needs 1 lamp but for me that price diff would go a long way for other fun

I wish they hadn't opened it. Still, that price is low for what it is. On eBay, it would go higher. Not certain on Craigslist but we will certainly see.

So you would prefer an unseen, unconfirmed, unopened shipping box? I personally would like to know what is in it.........NIB is overrated. Even classic cars are allowed to roll off the truck.

Looks pretty darn clean and has both boxes. On eBay I could see that going for the asking price.

I bet it would fetch that or more possibly on the auction site. Palo Alto is an area awash in money so who knows, they might get close their price.
