Hi all,
Picked up a pair of near mint Modulus and wanted input on the following:
1. Optimal set up - Toed in or straight on? How far out into the room away from rear wall?
2. I have mine paired with an SVS 3000 sub. What is the optimal low pass filter setting?

Any other tidbits of advice are appreciated.

Thanks!

I have a set of Moduluses, but they're being used nearfield, so my experience probably won't be helpful.

I think all of this will depend on your room. The EMIT has excellent horizontal dispersion, so toe in isn't usually necessary to maintain the high frequencies. I just adjusted my subwoofer's crossover until it sounded "right". The modulus is rated down to 80hz -2dB, but that also will depend on the room. I'd probably start at 100hz and work down from there. So basically what I'm saying is, for best results, experiment.

I use mine in a VERY non-standard way. they are waay up high (7') about 8' apart firing at slightly obtuse angles from each other to fill a 20' room from a side wall. the M&K sub is equidistent between them and set to around 80hz. They do a great job of filling the entire room with sound. What swechsler said about horizontal dispersion, they are GREAT at that, and I'd agree, start with them straight forward.

basically, they are set up for background listening, not focused. for that I've my maggie 3.7I on the short wall of the same room. (I'm a lucky, lucky bastard) They work right up against a rear wall, for midbass reinforcement and out in the room.

They are fantastic speakers, and if I still had them in my bedroom, they'd be set up around 4' from the ground and around 4' apart. But my Ren 90 are in the bedroom.

They ARE also great nearfield. IMO, the best Infinity ever made.

Try to find the original stands, they are friggen fantastic.... I sure wish @7.62 hadn't sold them off.
