First post but have been in audio since the early 70s when I was in the Navy. I am currently a headphone junkie and have 5 different pairs from Grado HP2s to HIFIMan 500s. Throw in a AKG 702, Senn 600 and ATM 50 for good measure. My phone amps are a ASL MG Head OTL Mark III, Ming Da and Icon HDP USB. I listen to redbook to 192khz/24bit HDAD. I have rigs at work, home office and primary listening room. SACD, DVD Audio, HDTracks, etc. provide the tunes.
I found your forum when searching for info on a 10 year old Ming Da MC34-B headphone/integrated amp I have had for about 5 years. I was looking for tube substituition info and found DanTanas post on the amp with schematics and common sense upgrades to the amp. You seem to have some better than average tube experts here on this forum and am looking forward to learning quite a bit.
I have had a number of tube amps and preamps in the past along with some SS stuff but am currently trying to mate an Oppo 105 as my primary source and am looking for some good ideas on getting the most from it. I listen to mostly mainstream classic rock, jazz and some classical. I also have a very old pair of VTL 225 KT90 amps from 1990 that I will be unboxing soon and need to upgrade some capacitors.
Looking forward to making some new contacts and friends.
