Hello! I was referred here by someone on another forum, and was told to ask for "Merrylander". I am in need of a referral for someone to work on my vintage Yamaha CR2020 receiver. It plays fine for a period of time, then just shuts off, usually accompanied by an audible pop. I have found all of the Yamaha CR2020 service bulletins in PDF form, and they are readable, however, all of the service manual PDF files I have found online are unreadable. BTW, I am located in Maryland.

Welcome to the AK forums. You'll probably find better 411 over in the Yamaha forum in the manufacturers category.

Hope you get your Yammie back up and singing.

Welcome to AK!

Merrylander is THE Yamaha expert on this site, but he retired in 2013 and no longer restores equipment.

Welcome to the forums.

Yes, our Merrylander is the Yamaha Man @ this earth but he has retired from wrenching on audio equipment. Still, sending him a PM (read: conversation) introducing yourself and seeking (his) recommendations for options re: your gear would be a good thing to do. He'll steer y'right.

PS: Merrylander is (sincerely!) one of the kindest and most thoughtful folk @ this planet, so don't be fearful or shy about contacting him.

Welcome and ahoy. (Figured your name was either you own one or live there). I have 3 Merrylander CR's. I miss not having him available to wrench anymore but I do get the pleasure of seeing him every now and then at AK events. One heckuva swell guy.
