I've been reading and following AK for some time since retiring at the end of 2013. One of my first purchases after college in 1972 was a Marantz 2245 and AR 2ax's. Now I am enjoying restoring old stuff. My first post retirement project was to resurrect a pair of Speaker Lab K horns. I replaced the tweeter diaphrams and first tried a new set of 15" woofers. Did not sound like they used to, so I had the bad SL woofer reconed and switched back to old drivers. Also, updated to later model SL crossover with new caps. Bought a nice Marantz 2250 to power them. Makes quite a nice 1970 sound.
My long term stereo consist of a pair to NS 1000M's that I have had since new. I drive them with a Sony AX500 integrated amp. Sound quality is excellent.
In the BR, I have a little Marantz 2010 driving a pair of KLH model 32's. At low volumes, very pleasing sound, but nothing like the two above system.
My next project is to restore a Marantz 2245 and if successful a Pioneer SX1080.
Looking forward to continue learning from AK. Thanks, already.
