Seems in Europe & Japan they have released new JBLs to look like the Vintage ones. Wonder why they don't release them in NA?:nono:

I think it's 'cause Americans all seem to want skinny black towers or teeny plastic boxes these days. :( WAF is probably a big factor, too.
 
I wonder whether the drivers have real cast baskets, or just convincing-looking trim rings. And whether they have real wood veneer on the cabinets. And whether they're made in China.
 
It is because you guys in NA have plenty of second hand JBL monitors to find at ebay, CL, estate sales, barter town, curbs, GW, SA etc etc.

In Europe and Japan these JBLs are so rare. We pay more for these vintage monitors than new ones in the showrooms. I think this is a good financial move by JBL (Harman Int.)
 
Wow!!! I wish they would offer them here. I don't know how they compare to the vintage, but that driver don't look cheap

Man it's like a full time job trying to find a good pair at a fair price. You can get these new models on eBay, but I don't think they a representative of the actual cost in their original homelands, they are sold here at a premium with large middle man fee I am assuming. I would like to know what they are worth for real?
