Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. I recently inherited a pioneer spec1/4/ and sg9800. I was thinking the spec4 has a blown component because there is no second relay sound that kicks in. I want to see something work so I connected my Kenwood kt7500 to the spec 1 and ran two speakers from that. Still no sound. Please look over these pics and tell me if u see something that is causing no sound. Thank you!

I’m not sure of the images but I can say that the Spec 1 is not an integrated amplifier. The speaker connections are for the speakers selection through the front panel switches. You can read the owner’s manual for a better description of the connections.
if you want to use the Kenwood as the amplifier you would use the Spec 1 RCA outputs to the main in RCAs on the Kenwood.

Zepulon is correct. The Spec 1 is not an amplifier so it has no way to drive the speakers directly. Look at its back panel and you'll see where there's a set of speaker terminals that are supposed to be connected to a separate amplifier's speaker output connectors. It is admittedly confusing but this allows you to use the Spec 1 as kind of a switching unit that allows you to hook up two separate sets of speakers. That is redundant if you acquire a power amplifier that provides two sets of speaker connectors, however.

In addition to the Spec 1 preamplifier, you mention a Spec 4. However, I don't see it in your pictures. If you do have a Spec 4, that is what you connect the Spec 1 to as it (Spec 4) is a power amplifier. If you don't have a Spec 4, you need to acquire a power amplifier (not a receiver or an integrated amp) in order to get sound out of the Spec 1 and the connected Kenwood tuner.
