Hello everyone.
On the website of the Italian distributor of McIntosh new products have appeared in the catalog.
These two new preamps, the C48 and C50, two new power amplifiers, the MC 302 and MC 452 and finally a new embedded player CD /SACD, the MCD 1100The two preamps are analog and digital inputs including a USB input.

It 's weird, but I expected more interest in news of new products coming. It seemed that the arrival of two new preamps with DAC and its digital inputs, including USB, should be viewed as a true revolution in McIntosh. Not only. Goes out of print, at least in Italy the combo player MCD MDA-1000, replaced by MCD 1100, 32-bit DAC with 192 kHz digital inputs, including USB and the U.S. seems nobody cares. Very strange. In Italy there is almost a religious war between those who have made the choice of music to use with liquid from a PC connected to a stereo and who, like me, for example, does not fully understand this kind of choice. Finally, replacements are coming of legendary amps and 402 MC252 and nobody says anything. But McIntosh affects only outside the U.S.?

Speaking for myself as an old school two channel guy, these new features can hardly be considered "revolutionary". Mostly because I haven't seen adequate proof that they are beneficial in my situation or superior in audio performance. My hope for future Mac products will always be that they are kept simple, sound superior and are halfway affordable (whatever that means). New, high tech features don't get me excited.
