New room, acoustic panels and ceiling advice

Soo.. I'm finally nearing completion on a major (at least to me) renovation project. Within a month or two, if time permits. I've mostly decided how the room should end up but I've had to make a few compromises to somewhat appease the wife.

End goal is a room with audio gear, tv and a couch (to accommodate overnight visitors so no chairs) at one end, and workbench, equipment and computers at the other end. Lots of shelves and many stacks of gear too. It'll be a busy room, for sure.

In short; I've removed a dividing wall, making one room that's 7.8 x 3.8m (~25 x 12.5'). Lots of work on all the walls, ceiling, floor and power distribution. Floor is a concrete slab, with wall to wall carpeting - this annoys the wife immensely as nobody uses carpeting anymore. I like carpeting though, and believe it's beneficial for the acoustics. Rest of the house has floor tiles so I get her point.

I'm planning on using Troldtekt panels for ceiling and acoustic panels on the backwall and a bit to the sides. That's the part I'm unsure about, mainly the entire backwall covered in (mostly) cosmetic panels, like this:

Troldtekt and acoustic panels, good or bad?
