Did I accidentally discover something?
Let me know if this is already been addressed.
I’ve got a room with a nice alcove built into the wall.
I swear I get more soundstage depth with it. I’ve put a large piece of masonite over the
alcove to test my theory.
I wish I was building a home. I’d have movable walls in my sound room. I’d experiment with angles as well as width of alcove. Any one out there done this?
BTW I’m a wanna be audiophile. I’ve slowly upgraded over the years and my current set up is so
sweet sounding I bought another identical set up for downstairs.
In case anyone else wants a great starting point try this:
Parasound Integrated Halo amp (165 per channel)
Bowers & Wilkins 805S (make sure you try the ’S’ model. I have no way of testing any of the ‘D’ versions, but it’s hard to imagine any sweeter top end.
My workhorse turntable Pioneer PL-518
My higher end turntable Music Hall 9.3 (with Ortofon Blue)
Great dual 12” sub M&K MX-105 MKII
