New Stereo Hobbyist wants a TimeFrame HT system

6 months ago, quite entirely by accident too, I stepped into the Hi-Fi space with a $200 pair of Beyerdynamic T1.2s.

After convincing my wife through the magic of hearing, we wanted a proper stereo set up, and after hours scrawling marketplace and these forums, I have been fully converted to the Cult of Eberbach and am a DCM fanboy.

I have a pair of TF 700s in my living room and TF 250s in my office, with my Subwoofer being a Monster Eleganza Bella 15 inch that some guy was letting his kid use as a play kitchen stove also in the room.

I have the opportunity to also get some TF 400/600 if needed for dirt cheap, and I have a pair of Bose 6.2 (no hate pls they are actually really good) in my bedroom as well.

Can I put together a good setup with this, or should I be looking at more purpose built stuff?

I adore the TF's sound, and generally don't suffer from the same kind of high treble fatigue that other people have with many things, Beyer included.

I've always been a proponent of a matching system. If you enjoy your front speakers for music what ever the manufacture, then you will enjoy a surround system based off those. This would include the purchase of the 400/600 which you say you can get dirt cheap. The challenge comes when trying to match a center channel with vintage speakers. I encourage you to pursue the quest, and am confident you'll be happy with the result!

I set the room up as a DCM TimeFrame HT system ... TF1000s as front mains on one Adcom 555,
TF600s as side surrounds, and the TF400s as rear surround.
Put a TimePiece in the center and the tonality was nice and it could play loud enough for us ... great!

Over the years I tried Vandersteens and other speakers - eventually I found 2 pairs of UREI 809 Studio Monitors (basically JBL Coaxials)
and set them up and front and side surrounds speakers,
Got a massive JBL B460 (18") as the sub for the system, and I still have the TF600s as rear surrounds.

You know, the Home theatre system that makes YOU smile is the one you should have ... its Your Home!
The one lesson I learned was there is a kind of magic when you have all the same type of speakers in your system -
having the tonality match across all the speakers makes all the difference

If you haven't figured it out already, you need to grab at least the TF600!
