New Stones ... sort of

finnbow

The Dude Abides
It seems the Stones, including Bill Wyman, got together on an Ian Stewart tribute album. A fine version of Dylan's "Watching the River Flow" can be streamed here:

Mick is in fine voice. Very nice.

I would like an album filled with material like that. Thanks for the link finnbow. Mick's voice is, well, beautiful on this recording. Has a real early Stones feel to it. Remember when pianos were an integral part of rock n'roll.

Mick's voice is beautiful? Hmm... I don't agree. As is par for Mick these days, he's trying to hard. He hasn't sounded relaxed and natural since Some Girls.

Real tasty stuff. Mick does indeed sound dirtier and sneerier than he has in many a moon. Along with his Solomon Burke tribute performance, I think there's some juice left in the 'ol boy yet. Now, if he and the guys can channel some of that grit into the next album . . . well, we might have something to sing about. :thmbsp:
