New to AK and I am not savvy like the rest of you

Hello all !

I love collecting speakers and other audio equipment I tend to lean towards thrift storesþpawn etc. To get cheap deals been successful in my eyes and like what I find but I lack " vintage" equipment in fact I'd imagine most of you would consider my stuff junk or waste of money lol but I like what I have and plan to transition towards some old gems as they come around. I'm a 90's kid so I definitely have alot from this era. I suppose the ok only vintage items I have are my Sansui's sp-x6, sp-x8700 and s-520u...... if they are old enough to be vintage....

I have a Scott receiver R 316 that needs work I'd like to get into that as a practice unit so I can possibly tackle a better project down the road.

Looking forward to soaking up some of the knowledge every ok ne brings to the forums.

Welcome to AK! See that you’re a fisherman, used to have a business that was deeply involved in the fishing industry. Did all the large industry shows and met some of the most friendly happy people in the five years I had it before I sold it. Just the mere fact that you are a collector shows that you have your heart in this audio world!
 
What you collect is up to you. Although I have a couple of very good systems I enjoy discovering entry-level systems of the better manufacturers. I like to see what has "trickeled down" from their flagship systems. I have systems from B&W, Klipsch, PSB, Scandyna, EV, T&A, NHT and others. If my taste changes I can always sell what I have and try something new. There never any shortage of new offerings.
