New to AK and in need of Help

First off hello to all you AK’ers out there!

I hail from Los Angeles, Ca!

I’m having a heck of a time figuring out how and if I can connect my Kenwood KS-4000R Am/FM stereo Receiver to my Kenwood KA-9100 then to speakers. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I cannot find anything on google. I have attached a pic showing the plugs on the back of my Kenwood KS-4000R and Ka-9100. The plugs plugged in on my Ks-4000 R on the right hand side are the speaker terminals. Thank you guys in advance!

I'd try taking the Tape (rec) output from the KS-4000R and feed it to the Tape (play) input of the KA-9100. The select Tape source on the 9100.

Yes you can. Run RCA cables from the TAPE REC output on your receiver to the TUNER input on your integrated amp.

I see now that the OP apparently just wants to use the receiver as a tuner.

I initially thought he was wanting to use it as a preamp.

That was my assumption since the integrated has multiple inputs.
Angel, If you are indeed only using the tuner function on your receiver, then you can follow my above directions. But you also may need to connect the PRE OUT to the POWER IN (these are next to each other on your integrated). My NAD receiver was configured the same way, and it came with U shaped jumpers for that purpose. If you don't have them, use the shortest RCA cables you have.

I dont believe the 4000R has preamp out connections. There is really no good way to use it as a preamp....but no need to, either. His 9100 has a better preamp section.

I edited my statement above. pre out and power in are both on the integrated amp in the second picture.
According to another thread, 10AWG solid wires bent into a U shape will work for jumpers.

The 9100 does not need jumpers between the preamp out and power amp in jacks. It has a switch to activate/deactivate this function.

You are correct, I am only using the KS-4000 as a tuner. Let me give that a shot

Neither You would run the interconnect from the tape out to the tuner (or aux) input on the other unit. Then elect that input and what your input selector on the other unit is set to will appear there.
