Hey guys, So i've been using literal earbuds for music/gaming for the past couple of years, My gf recently got me some AKG K371s, Which honestly, Everywhere i asked people have done nothing but praise them, But someone recently said i should have gotten dt990s or 770s, Which is making me kinda wanting to return this, but i cant because my GF got me them as a gift, Anyways; At First they sounded basic and pretty basic, I EQ'd them and they sound alot better, People keep suggesting me to get a dac/amp so pretty much i'm here to ask for help, I've been looking at Magni heresy, Just the amp for now, but i'm confused. People have suggested Fulla 3 but i dunno, what do you guys think? do amps/dacs make a difference?

1) this is probably a better question for the Headphones forum

2) Yes, a dac/amp will make a difference. How much depends on a lot of factors. I use an AudioQuest Dragonfly Red as the dac for headphone and stereo listening. I can tell the difference side by side and the DAC sounds better. However, I do not do a lot of critical listening and I do not need the DAC to enjoy music. As for the amp portion, I do not think the AKG’s are difficult to drive so it is hard to say how much they would benefit from additional amplification.
