I never really considered a home audio system even though I am a huge car audio buff. This weekend I was given a set of really well built beautiful Bag Ends and now all I want to do is hear them purrrrrr.... Problem is I have no experiences in setting up a decent system and from what I am told these speakers are no joke. I have a Kenwood Receiver but no wiring. Any and all suggestions/help is extremely appreciated.

If all you have is a receiver and a pair of speakers all you need is speaker cables. They can cost anywhere from $5 to $5K. I suggest the cable in the link below. It's 12 gauge, comes terminated w/banana plugs in various lengths and/or in bulk spools. The price IMO is very reasonable.

Of course just about any wire will work. Anything smaller than 16 gauge is not a good idea.

In the old days, AR et al suggested "zip cord" / lamp cord which is a twin lead wiring approach. The heavier the gauge (lower the number) that will fit the connections is better. Make sure no strands get loose and short out connections. Stripping and tinning (soldering) the strands together helps to avoid accidental shorts. Maintain polarity by connecting plus to plus - lamp cord usually has a ribbed wire in the pair to tell polarity easy. Hook up the speakers and bring the volume up a little to make sure everything is correct. Listen to a favorite piece of music and evaluate the quality to your ears. Welcome to AK. You may find yourself hunting and gathering more components to find audio nirvana - it's catching.

Depending which model Bag End speakers you have, you may be disappointed.
Bag End makes some speakers suitable for your application, but a majority of their offerings tend to lean toward musical instrument and sound reinforcement speakers. Those type of specific use speakers usually require crossovers and suitable amplifiers.
They do make some powered speakers that you would not hook up to your Kenwood with traditional speaker wire, post some pictures or at least model numbers before you proceed.
