New to Klipsch

So I have been looking at Klipsch speakers for a while, Heresy, Forte, Quartet, Chorus I and II and Cornwall.

I finally found something I liked and took the plunge, a pair of Chorus I's with Ti tweeters and replacement Sonicaps.

I look forward to enjoying them.

Congratulation on your new journey into Klipsch. Chorus ll have a very nice mid horn especially with a ti diaphragm in it and the CF4 will push considerably more air and play lower with improved stage and image compared to what either Chorus can do. I found like many it is very hard to own just one Klipsch. Give in now and enjoy Klipsch and its offerings. You are in for a great ride. Best regards Moray James.
 
Congratulation on the Klipsch. I'm a recent Klipsch convert myself. I picked up some Klipsch Tangent-500 locally here for $150 last year, knowing what I was getting myself into based on much negative and some constructive reviews online. With a little bit of work on the cabinet internally and Crites Ti tweets. I'm loving the sound and these will be keepers for a long time.
 
Congrats on buying some monsters..lol. If you don't like them at first, try a different amp and/or a different room. :music:
 
Congratulations. When I first got my Klipsch Icon KF28's they were a bit harsh sounding, then I switched from a solid state Onkyo Receiver to a tube amp and I got the sound I was looking for. Someday I am going to upgrade to vintage Klipsch.

These vintage Yamaha Class A,AB amps have that warm tube sound.
http://legendaryamps.com/latest.html The M80/85 series have 30watts Class A 250WPC AB for plenty of extra head room. There are other SS Class A that might sound great too.
I had tubes 30 years ago and some day I may try them again when I have my garage remodeled for my analog room. .

Which is why I got Chorus'. I wanted to experience bass from a large (15') driver and a properly sized cabinet.

I did a lot of reading and the Klipsch line appealed to me most. The Chorus I specifically because of those two features and I want more flexibility with distance from the wall behind them.

I am very pleased with the sound but that won't stop me from modding and experimenting. I have a pair of K61's on the way and am looking for Ti diaphragms for them. They will sit on top of the cabinets with the tweets. That configuration is the most amenable to tri-amping. It makes it easier to get to all the speaker connections.
 
Presently an Adcom GFP-565 pre and Adcom GFA-545 amp.

I have some different horns on the way, K-61's and K-85's.

Looking to find some Ti diaphragms for the K-61's which will them be the mids. I will take the lens from the K-85's to put on the K-79-Ti's tweets I have.

I will put the horns on top of the cabinet and tri-amp, no longer using a crossover.

The tweets will be driven by and Adcom 535, a 545 for the mids and 555 for the woofers.
 
We'll that sounds like a true AudioKarma project. So please keep us updated, and photos are encouraged. Vintage Klipsch are a true classic that sound great and can be rebuilt when necessary as well as modded to improve. Not at all familiar with the current models so can't speak to those, hopefully they too are still that way.
 
I fully blame Moray for my new addiction to Klipsch, got Chorus II's and then a wayward set of LaScalas found there way to my door. Thanks Moray! :D

Congratulations, you have some great speakers.

Honestly, its just variations on good and gooder with no end in sight.

Until you hear a pair of speakers that are noticeably better than what you have, just enjoy them. I love my LaScalas and haven't heard anything noticeably better when I stop into showrooms.

If you don't think you are driving low enough, maybe add a sub, but I would consult Moray first. My speaker knowledge is but a drop in his reservoir.

If I were going to change, I would probably build.

I use my AT-700 and when I am serious my AGK-702s to calibrate my sound systems, there isn't much to tweak.
