New (to me) Boston A150s, How to Read The Serial #

I just acquired some Boston Acoustics A150s. Appear to be early Series 1 with walnut cabinets and the seas tweeter. I am very impressed with these speakers. My question is, does anyone have any idea how to read the serial numbers to determine where they fall in terms of date of manufacture and any other information discernible from the serial number?

There's alot more knowledgeable AKers than me and I'm sure they will answer your question alot better than I can.
But here was my experience with my A150s.
They were vinyl instead of wood veneer, but they show only A150 on the label. Which you think would be the series 1. (Because all series 1s were wood veneer)
Series II became a walnut vinyl coating over the speakers.
That said my A150s must have been in the transition period between the series1 and the series II. My serial is K012357

Edit: Also the series 1 had the offset mid and tweeter, where the series II was centered vertically with the woofer. Mine was center vertically with the woofer, but like I said before only said A150 on the label.

Series two had optional wood veneer, I had a pair with real oak veneer. I'm not sure the serial number actually decodes to anything particularly interesting. The A150's are great speakers, I only sold mine because I bought a pair of A400.
 
Yeah, I like Boston's home speakers. Boston, ADS, Bozak, KLH, and the acoustic-suspension stuff that Wharfedale made. Those are my favorite "east coast" brands.

Boston has made some really-nice car speakers over the years (The Boston Pro AND Rally Series were both popular), as has ADS (Beautiful-sounding mids/highs, just like their home speakers). I had a pair of Boston Rally Series component speakers (I used them in the front at first and then moved them to rear-fill duty after I bought a set of Soundstream Reference speakers). Tweeter (the audio chain) pushed Boston stuff in a big way (back when they were still in business). OK, I'm getting sidetracked here...
 
My A70's were easy to determine, the date was on a sticker attached to the woofer. Aug 22, 1980
