I owned of pair of these back in 1980 in Birch sold them around 1985, I have always wanted another pair and here they are.DSCN0781.JPG DSCN0783.JPG DSCN0784.JPG I was glad to find out that my Fisher 400-C pre. and SA-100 amp are quiet, never had a horn system connected up to these.

Awesome, beautiful walnut oil finish Cornwall’s from 1973. The Fisher and the Cornwall’s should make a great rig, congrats!

Those are vertical Cornwalls...you can arrange them sideways for listening as well. Nice!

You are correct sir, also known as the Cornwall II’s. Not to be confused with the Cornwall II’s from the mid 80’s which is another story. I had a pair of 72 Verticals that ended up with member Sberger. I think Sam parted with them some time ago.

You could experiment with the horns on the inside or the outside vertically or as Mike pointed, horizontally. When I tried mine horizontally, I found the horns were to close to the floor. I would have needed some pretty tall risers to get them near ear level which I didn’t bother to do. Great find!

Thanks for all the information from everyone. I have other amps to try, next up is my ARC ST-70 C-3, then after that my Heathkit Williamson Mono. Blocks W3AM, all should work well with the Cornwall's.

Uh oh.... I trust you've read on the internet (so it must be true) that horns are honky

Nice find, they look very nice!

Installed the ARC ST-70 C-3 also sounds fine.DSCN0785.JPG DSCN0786.JPG This amp gets hot so I like to run it at 117 volts

Was up early today so I worked on this system, I now have speakers 24" from back wall and 10" from side with speakers strait ahead Vinyl sound is very nice. DSCN0799.JPG More work to come

Early today I took out the ARC amp and put in the Heathkit Williamson Mono. Blocks W3AM, these will stay in place for now I played vinyl for 3 hours, they match up better for me then the ARC to on the Cornwall's. A little better separation and a little more warmth then the ARC. Later I will place the SA-100 back in. DSCN0803.JPG DSCN0802.JPG
