New to the forum and I already like it

Hello all, glad to be in the group. I am dipping my toes into old school audio now at the ripe old age of 60 and will be learning far more than contributing at first for sure. I have been lurking for a month or so and reading reviews about speakers and receivers.
I have my sights set on a Marantz 2226b or 2238b and am interested in speaker recommendations to pair with them.
My space is a 400 sf. Family Room in the basement and my preference is classic rock (not heavy stuff) and my wife likes easy listening with contemporary vocal stuff and some jazz.

Welcome! 400 square feet is a good sized space. That will be able to hold multiple speakers, records , amps, turntables, CDs, etc. as you head down the hoarding path to join the rest of us. :biggrin:
