New to the forums, new to vintage - building my first setup - opinions?

Hi,

I’m new around here, and new to vintage audio as a whole. I’m just now building my first legit setup, so go easy on me if my questions are stupid and/or ignorant.

First off, I’m basically looking for opinions on my setup. I’ve got a Pioneer PL-15D II turntable, a Pioneer SX-580 receiver, and a pair of Boston Acoustics A60 series II speakers. I haven’t hooked the setup up yet, as I’m still waiting on my receiver to arrive. Overall, is this setup going to work well for me? Am I going to have any issues running these speakers with this amp? I know impedance is the big issue when pairing, and from what I’ve read, I think I should be fine. But I’m looking for some input.

Welcome! As you can see, an SX-580 is my daily driver and a very nice piece of equipment. Your setup (when it's all together:)) should sound great!

Thanks! Glad to hear it. I had my eye on the 580 for a while and finally pulled the trigger. I’m thinking I’ll be pretty happy with my choices once it’s all set up.

Also, greetings to all! I’ve lurked these forums for a while and they’ve been a huge help. Glad to officially be aboard.

Your setup sounds great.....Pioneer receivers sound great even at low wattage.

And those Boston Acoustics speakers are well reviewed, and rated at 90db efficiency.

It's gonna sound good.

Thanks! I appreciate the input. I really liked the things I read about Pioneer receivers as a whole, and I definitely read good things about the Bostons. Glad to have some reassurance that I’ve made solid decisions.

Very efficient drivers on those, and the Pioneer SX series is great, even the lower power receivers sound awesome. The PL series TT's are also nice, never heard the 15D, but I imagine it can't be far off from what I've heard or owned. You have a very well put together system I think, and it should offer you plenty of musical joy for years to come.

Great to hear. I heard great things about the SX series as a whole, and the 580 seems to have plenty of power for the space I have. Can't wait to have everything ready. I'll report back when everything is properly set up.
