New to Turntables

Lots of electronics in vintage DDs. They may work fine upon buy. But when control boards, ICs and sensors start acting up it can be hard to repair or find parts.
When old belt or idler drives fail it's usually due to poor lubrication and wear and tear, that usually can be sorted out after some headscratching, cleaning and relube. Fixing electronics is another thing...

Even clumpsy old me have serviced and revived a couple of Duals without knowing anything about turntables before.
Of course with more than a little help from my friends here on AK and over at Vinylengine :-).
If OP likes to tinker a bit, an old none DD deck can be a cheaper and great working option.

Hey guys! So sorry I've been really busy with work recently. But I'm back on my search for a turntable. I dont necessarily need a vintage turntable, but it just seems like it would fit my price range pretty well. Also, I dont hate Ebay at all, it's just that I dont listen to turntables very often so I'd really like to hear it in person is all. So! I found Thorens TD115 and wanted to hear opinions. Also found an Audio Technica AT-LP240-USB for sale. Thanks guys!
