Hi AK,
I’ve lurked on these pages a long time and finally decided to join. A bit about me, I was fortunate to go to a college with a well known music conservatory (I was not in the conservatory as I have no musical talent at all) in the 90s and was introduced to all kinds of music. I started trading in my CDs for vinyl around that time and have amassed a decent size collection of jazz, rock, hip hop and other records over the years.
I had been living in coastal Southern California since the mid 90s and always in relatively small beach living spaces. My main setup was a receiver, turntable, occasional other inputs, and usually bookshelf speakers. While I still have a small place in CA I now have a house in the Metro West area outside of Boston. With so much more space to fill with sound I figured AK would be a good place to learn more and get some direction. Also, since I used to spend a lot of my time surfing and restoring old surfboards I think home audio will be a fun replacement that maybe I can share with my daughter.
My current setup is a Pioneer VSX-401, Technics SL1600MK2, and PSB Alpha AV speakers which I bought new a long time ago quite possibly after reading about PSB on AK.
Cheers,
Tom
