Hello All,
Newb thats looking to ramp up my equip. I have Magnapan 1.7 speakers that apparently take more punch than I'm giving them I have a Outlaw amp tuner and a U turn Table. It does'nt sound bad but I know these Planers will blow the doors off with the right equip.

If you are anywhere near Sarasota, visit Suncoast Audio for all your Door Blowing needs. Welcome

Welcome to a fellow Floridian Aker. It sounds like you may be dealing with some, not so efficient speakers. More amp power always tend to be expensive. Good luck to you.

Your Maggies are a very low impedance speaker; You need a high current/wattage amp that works well at 2-4 ohms.
Very flat curve being at 4 ohms between 20 Hz and 4K Hz; but then it starts to drop... 2.4 ohms at 10K Hz and 1.8 ohms at 20K Hz.

The Outlaw is a good unit but you need more than good.

Welcome aboard.

Thanks...You seem to be familiar with the Maggies.. Appreciate that for sure. Any suggestions for replacement equip.? When I bought them I was told 4 ohms and the outlaw maxs at that but needs higher volumes to get any real sound. When at half volume you can start to appreciate the speakers potential. They are really a remarkable speaker. The sounds I had never heard before....amazing

Welcome to the horde from PSL FL and let the wallet draining begin.

2ohm stable, lots of power (360W/4ohm), won't break the bank, no noisy cooling fan, and looks great too.

Because electrostatic speakers are not dynamic like box speakers this is usually the case; they don't sound that great at low or medium volume.

Any suggestions for replacement equip.?

I'll assume that your Outlaw is their receiver since you didn't mention a pre-amp. If you opt for a traditional class A/AB amp your're going to spend a ton of money on anything new. If you buy a used class AB amp that's 15-30 years old you're in the $1K range but you may have to spent upwards of $500 to get it properly refurbished.

My advice is..... https://www.buckeyeamp.com/shop/p/hypex-ncx500-amplifier-2-channel.
It has the right ingredients to make your Maggies sing for around one grand.
