Hello everyone, dropped in to introduce myself. My name is Gary & I reside in the Rough River area of KY. I've been a lover of Hi End Stereo & older electronics for a number of years. Then I lost out to the computer age, older gear got tossed in immature youth, & pro sound became my main attention. Out of nowhere came that voice of the past wishing to hear the "warm" sound of yesteryear. I gave in & started collecting older equipment. Started with a Sansui 4000, & just acquired a Marantz 2238b. Still have the old DBX 10's with controller that I tried my hand at refoaming, & was pleasantly surprised with the results. although one 10 had to be replaced from VC problems. I use a pretty new Denon turntable which has brought the old Classic rock albums back to life. Can't wait for summer to start checking out the yard sale gear. Never know what one might find & salvage. Great to be here, & to learn invaluable knowledge from other pros & entusiast!

That is a nice Marantz stack you got there. You cannot beat the beautiful Marantz styling when the cassette deck is added to the mix (mine is a 2226b and 5025b)

Most here have closets, houses, garages, kids playhouses, sheds, and rented storage lockers full of vintage stereo gear

This site allows you to witness all kinds of amps, receivers and whatnot which has a tendency to inspire you to collect MORE stuff.

Hey Oldski, I'm in Etown at least once a week, where's the stereo buys in that town? I'm actually 28 mi away. I've already tried Peddlers a few times, LOL>.

Its really hit or miss here. I haven't scored in awhile now and am looking forward to summer for the yard sales. The last time I bought something was on craigslist in Louisville. Goodwill is on 31W north of peddlers across from Raffertys and Chic Filet.
